To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children…to leave the world a better place…to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
A little fire with my Sunday morning newspaper and iced tea. Soon the Santa Ana winds will arrive — probably late September or October — and my outdoor home will be in hibernation until May of 2013. I always miss it terribly — those warm nights of quiet sitting with the dogs and a book, the sounds of my windchime obsession, the crazy summer backyard pace night and day, and then the peaceful emergence of autumn with its bright sun tracing path ever so slightly southward as the days pass into winter. Life just goes on, doesn’t it?
Here’s to blessing you and yours with a healthy one. That’s truly what’s important. That’s ultimately what matters the most. ~ k
