The deciduous trees are still bare. The palm fronds are flowing a bit yellow. The garden patiently waiting for warmer temperatures to give growing confidence. But the red trumpet vine, aka Bignonia radicans, and the plum trees with their small pink blooms can wait no longer. This is their moment.
Noah spotted the red trumpets first while getting out of the car last week. “Look, Mom, your first bloom.”
I’m looking forward to a warm spring and an even warmer summer to come. But for now, I’m ready for some more reading weather this coming week — rain is in the forecast Wednesday through the weekend. Rainwater equals more beautiful blooms.
“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today.” ~ Dale Carnegie
